Recon RECON PREVIEW Open the real app →

What a scout sees

Every screen a scout goes through, in order, at phone size. Useful for showing a new scout the flow before an event without borrowing their phone — and for anyone whose own account is an admin, since the admin view is a different app.

Nothing on this page is live. The numbers, robots and names are made up and nothing here writes anything or talks to the database. It is a walkthrough, not a working copy — buttons will not respond. The real app is one link away.

One screen, no choices. A wrong password and an unknown email give the same message on purpose — anything else tells a stranger which of your scouts have accounts.

    Claim your station

Recon never guesses where somebody is sitting. A scout taps the seat they are actually in, and from then on every match at that seat is theirs.

Alliance and state are both in text, never colour alone. A station somebody else holds names them, and is not tappable — taking it back is a scout lead's job from the console.

    Claim your station

Stations are never auto-assigned. Scouts move seats, and an app that insists it knows where you sit produces wrong-robot data.

    Home

Answers one question: what do I do next? The seat, the next match, the robot. Not a dashboard.

When reports are waiting to sync, a card appears above it. When nothing is waiting there is no card — a permanent “0 waiting” row trains the eye to skip exactly the row that matters on the day it is not 0.

    Prematch

Only what is useful in the next thirty seconds. What this robot has done, what to watch for, and where it starts.

A number Recon cannot compute shows an em dash and the reason. A robot nobody has scouted and a robot that scored nothing are not the same robot, so it never prints a confident zero.

    Live scouting

The one screen that matters. Everything else in Recon exists to keep this one simple, because a scout looking at a phone is a scout not watching a robot.

HOLD while the robot is shooting; let go when it stops. Recon multiplies the duration by what it already knows about that robot and shows a count to confirm. If it does not know enough about the robot, it says so and the scout types the number — it never invents one.

The tab bar is gone. Stages advance on their own. PASS, MISS and DEFENSE are one tap each and deliberately smaller than HOLD; BREAKDOWN sits apart because it is exceptional.

Left: waiting. Right: mid-burst, then the confirmation that appears in place when the scout lets go — corrected with / + if the estimate was off, then straight back to HOLD. It never navigates to another page.

    Review and submit

A checklist, not a spreadsheet. Everything is correctable before it goes anywhere.

Not sure is a real answer with the same weight as the numbers — a forced guess is worse than an admission. Submitting is a deliberate slide, not a button you can brush past with your thumb.

Saved — with or without signal

The report is written to the phone before any network is attempted, so this screen means the same thing on full wifi and on none at all. The scout can walk away and start the next match.

Recon will not show XP or credits until the report has actually reached the server, because a reward a phone can compute is a reward a phone can fake.

The full report is on this device and is not going anywhere. Recon will send it the moment there is a connection — you do not have to stay on this screen, and you can scout the next match now.

Sample data throughout. The layout, type and colour are the real stylesheet, so what you see here is what a phone shows — but the words on a real screen come from your event.
